This insightful post has many great takeaways as we enter 2018. My favorite is the discussion of "weaning.," the removal of something we at one time thought we couldn't exist without. As a baby attaches to its mother's breast--a principal part of its world--we as adults also attach ourselves to the things of our world, that which pleases or satisfies us and which we come to feel we can't live without. Whereas a baby eagerly seeks the breast that feeds it--and complains when it's taken away-- we adults stubbornly adhere to our desires, and resist even when the instructions of God seek to wean us from these desires. As we proceed into 2018, Pastor Terry's article serves as a powerful guide for our steps.
